Motion by Ms. Slaughter to amend the rule to H.R. 4078 to make in order and provide the appropriate waivers for amendment #71, offered by Rep. Markey (MA), which would exempt regulatory actions that protect the privacy or security of protected health information from Title I and Title II of the bill. The amendment would also exempt regulations that protect individuals from discrimination based on their genetic history from Title I and Title II of the bill. Defeated: 3–6.
