Summary

H.R. 5973: The bill includes $19.4 billion in discretionary funding –$365 million below last year’s level, $1.7 billion below the President’s budget request. The agencies and programs in this bill will receive a total of $140.7 billion in both discretionary and mandatory funding, a reduction of more than $3.7 billion from the President’s request.

H.R. 5972: The bill provides a total of $51.6 billion in discretionary spending for the departments and agencies funded in the bill for fiscal year 2013—a reduction of $3.9 billion below last year’s level and $1.9 billion below the President’s budget request.
