The Committee granted, by a vote of 8 yeas to 4 nays, a rule providing for further consideration of S. 627 – The Budget Control Act of 2011. The rule would, upon adoption, amend S. 627 to require passage of the Balanced Budget Amendment by the Congress before an additional debt ceiling increase could be enacted.
