Amendment Process Announcement for H.R. 1229

Dear Colleague:

            The Committee on Rules may meet the week of May 2nd to grant a rule that could limit the amendment process for floor consideration of H.R. 1229, to amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to facilitate the safe and timely production of American energy resources from the Gulf of Mexico. The bill was ordered reported on April 13th by the Committee on Natural Resources.

            The Committee on Rules may meet the week of May 2nd to grant a rule, which could limit the amendment process for floor consideration of H.R. 1213, to repeal mandatory funding provided to States in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to establish American Health Benefit Exchanges.  The bill was ordered reported on April 5th by the Committee on Energy and Commerce.

H.R. 1473 represents the final agreement between the House, Senate, and White House on a final FY2011 Continuing Resolution which will prevent a government shutdown, fund the entire federal government until September 30, 2011, and provide essential funding for national defense. In addition, H.R. 1473 will reduce federal spending by nearly $40 billion.

 

H.Con.Res. 35 is the enrollment correction that provides for an up or down vote on the defunding of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare).
