Dear Colleague:
The Committee on Rules may meet the week of April 4th to grant a rule, which could limit the amendment process for floor consideration of H.R. 910, the Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011. The bill was ordered reported, as amended, on March 15, 2011 by the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the committee is expected to file its report with the House on April 1st.
The Committee on Rules will hold an emergency meeting today, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:00 PM in H-313 The Capitol on the following measure:
H.R. 1255 provides that if the Senate refuses to act on any full year funding measure by April 6, 2011, the provisions of H.R. 1, the full year funding resolution passed by the House, will become law. The bill also prohibits the CAO of the House and the Secretary of the Senate from disbursing salaries to Members during a government shutdown and also prohibits the President from receiving his salary during a government shutdown.
H.R. 658 authorizes appropriations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for fiscal years 2011 through 2014, to streamline programs, create efficiencies, reduce waste, improve aviation safety, and to provide stable funding for the national aviation system.
