H.R. 3334 – Sanctioning Tyrannical and Oppressive People within the Chinese Communist Party Act

Dear Colleague:                  

The Committee on Rules may meet the week of September 23rd to provide for floor consideration of H.R. 3334.

If a Member wishes to offer an amendment for consideration, they must submit a searchable electronic copy of the amendment, which should be provided by the Office of Legislative Counsel, via the Rules Committee’s website by 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024.  Please note that staff must be on the House network, either physically or remotely via virtual private network (VPN), in order to access the online submission form.

Members should draft their amendments to the text of H.R. 3334, which is available on the Rules Committee website. Members are strongly advised to submit amendments by the deadline.

Members may not digitally edit HOLC PDFs prior to submission. Member Day Hearing on Proposed Rules Changes for the 119th Congress

Dear Colleague:                  

As the Committee on Rules prepares for the 119th Congress, I wanted to inform members of an important hearing my committee will be holding.  As we have done in previous Congresses, the Committee on Rules will hold a Member Day hearing at 10:00 AM onThursday, September 19th, 2024 in H-313, The Capitol regarding proposed changes to the standing rules of the House. 

The purpose of this hearing is to receive input from Members about possible improvements to the Rules of the House for the 119th Congress.  I welcome your input and encourage you to bring your suggestions before the Committee.

Any Member wishing to testify should complete this form by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024.  I also ask that you submit a short summary of your proposal and any legislative text that may be available with your request to testify. Please make one submission per idea. All submissions will be made available to the Committee’s majority and minority staffs.
